Built in 1897, the Alpina Mountain Resort and Spa in
Switzerland recently underwent 20 months of restoration and
now returns to its former grandeur.This China Horse Club
(CHC) lifestyle facility provides club members with an ideal
destination to combine business and pleasure.
The legendary Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa in Tschiertschen
was built in 1897 and earned its reputation during the golden
age of Swiss hotels. It was a renowned holiday destination in
the summer months, especially among members of the high
society. A century later, the Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa was
officially reopened in a ceremony presided by former President
of the Swiss Confederation, Professor Dr. Joseph Deiss.
The Alpina Mountain Resort & Spa is located in one of
Switzerland’s most picturesque locations, an hour and a half
by car from Zurich. Mr. Teo Ah Khing, Chairman and founder
of the CHC describes Tschiertschen as a unique location that
is visually stunning and brings with it a sense of romance. The
restoration of the hotel has retained the property’s art nouveau
character, while ensuring an upgrading of amenities. The
restoration has also met the testing standards of sustainable
tourism. This includes raising the environmental building
standards for the 120-year-old hotel to meet the Minergie
standard, which strives to reduce energy consumption and to
protect the environment.
