club wins a race. This was especially Jockey 骑师 KENT DESORMEAUX 肯特·德索尔莫
so when Beat of the Drum secured Winning Horse 胜出马匹 BEAT OF THE DRUM 战鼓
for its victory at the Santa Anita Park
on October 2015. Beat of the Drum,
who was exported to the United States
as part of the “CHC China Dream
Project”, won the Santa Anita feature
race in style, and in the process, has
            created a momentous breakthrough for
            China’s horse racing industry.

Beat of the Drum was originally
a member of Aidan O’Brien’s all-
            conquering stable in Ireland before
it was imported to China as part of a
group of horses from Ireland, France and
Australia to take part in the inaugural
            China Equine Cultural Festival in
            Hohhot, Inner Mongolia in 2013
            where the mare displayed outstanding
strength, and won the Breeders’ Cup
with the prize money totalling RMB
one million. The following year Beat of
the Drum again emerged as the winner
of the 2014 China National Horse
            Racing Tournament (2000m). On the
            back of such exceptional performances,
Beat of the Drum, along with Alcott
and Ferryman, both winners of the
2014 CECF Shanghai, were three star
racehorses selected to participate in the
            “CHC China Dream Project”, marking
their debuts in the United States.
