Since 2016, Korea’s Autumn Racing Carnival has been
designated one of the highlights of the year by the
Korea Racing Authority. Ambitiously positioned to
be on par with international standards, the autumn race and
carnival aims to add even more dynamism to the stylish city
             of Seoul.

The KRA, which is overseen by the Government of South
Korea, is the only organisation in the country that is allowed
to host horse races. From 2013, the KRA has been hosting
the world-class SBS Goodwill Cup, which was renamed
the Asia Challenge Cup the following year. In 2016, the
inaugural Autumn Racing Carnival successfully raised the
             bar for Asian events.

For the 2017 Korea Autumn Racing Carnival, a major
international event, racehorses from seven countries
             – Britain, France, China, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan,
Singapore and the United States – travelled to the Seoul
Racecourse to compete against each other.

The highlights of the two-day racing carnival are the two G1
races on the second day, which are sponsored by Keeneland,
which the KRA has shared a long relationship with. The
purse is worth 1 billion won for the Keeneland Korea Cup
and KRW700 million for the Keeneland Korea Sprint.

China Horse Club’s talented sprinter Wimbledon was invited
by the Singapore Turf Club to represent the Singapore
industry on Korea’s international programme, adding to
the club’s international footprint. Trained by James Peters,
             the six-year-old Wimbledon showcased outstanding
performances in many races to win over SGD690,000. His
father, Snitzel, is the 2016/17 season’s Champion Australian
Sire for topping Australia’s champion stallion rankings and
has broken many records along the way.
