Before the auction, awards were handed out: the 2017
CECF Ordos Chairman’s Award was presented to Li
Yaonan, dean of Wuhan Business University, and Su Lai
Kwok, representative of the Perak Turf Club Malaysia.
Henry Field, managing director of Newgate Farm, was
awarded the 2017 CECF Ordos Entrepreneur of the
Year Award. Joseph Deiss, former president of the Swiss
Confederation and former president of the United Nations
General Assembly, was presented with the International
Goodwill Ambassador Award, while the highest honour of
the night, the Lifetime Achievement Award, went to John
Warren, who is both the bloodstock advisor for HM Queen
Elizabeth II as well as chairman of the CHC International
Advisory Council.
