Bowman elaborates: “Barrier eight is
hard. Everyone wants to be where he was
today but only one or two jockeys can
get there in a race, they can’t knock each
other down, they have to do it within the
rules of racing.”

Good horses like Press Statement allow
angles to happen and a seasoned jockey
like Bowman makes it looks easy. That
is the first part of his armory. He settles
so well mid-stages, and caps it with a
fantastic finish.

Exceptional colt Press Statement, who
recorded six wins from 11 starts, was
officially retired to stud in April 2016,
forging a new path ahead for future
champions.
