EQUINE AUCTION
With the solid foundation of a breeding hub the
development of an auction market is the logical next step.
A mature equine market requires sources of both supply
and demand. International buyers flock to major auctions
around the world because they are attracted by the quality of
yearlings available for sale. The auctions contribute several
millions of dollars to the local economy annually. In time,
it is hoped that China can establish itself as a location to
attract international buyers.

EQUINE LOGISTICS
In 2016, Ordos International Airport welcomed a Boeing
747 cargo aircraft transporting 81 thoroughbreds from
New Zealand. Big-scale and professional logistics service
for horses across borders will create more opportunities
for the economy and for industry professionals, as well as
contribute to the development of China’s aviation industry
and trucking industry. As more and more horse-racing
events are expected to be introduced in the future, the
equine logistics business is likely to become a ‘Silk Road’
as horses are transported by air and road domestically and
internationally. The of airport and racecourse makes Ordos
a natural hub for China.

带动国内的航空业与货运行业发展。随着未来赛事的增大及开
放，马匹运输也将能开创一个空中“丝绸之路”。航空业与赛马
业的发展也将让鄂尔多斯成为中国的一个天然集散中心。
EQUINE DIS PROXIMITY EASE-FREE ZONE
(EDFZ)
To date, there is only one equine disease-free zone in China.
In view of the huge demand expected from the future
growth of the thoroughbred market, this is insufficient.
When foreign horses are brought into China, they are
required to be isolated for 30 days before they can become
part of the domestic population.
An EDFZ will promote the movement of horses into and out
of China. This opens up opportunities to upgrade China’s
domestic breeding industry, which could capitalize on
shuttling stallions with world class bloodlines in and out of
its breeding regions, and to also promote its racing industry.
An EDFZ could allow for high quality internationally
performed racehorses and their trainers, owners and jockeys
to come to compete in feature events in China just as
they currently compete in Europe, America, Australia or
Hong Kong. The involvement of these racehorses would
immediately provide China with an international platform
to leverage and promote from.
马无疫区
当前国内只有一个马无疫区，在未来面对庞大纯血马市场增长
的 前 提下，肯 定供 不应求 。外国马进 入中国，一 般 需 要 长 达 3 0
天的隔离时间，才能与国内马匹接触。
而马无疫区的建立则会增强中国国内纯血马的流通。这也将为
中国 育马事业带 来机 遇，为国内马匹引入优良的国 际 血 统，进
而促进赛马行业发展。马无疫区也将让那些目前驻扎在欧洲、
美 国、澳 大 利亚以 及香 港 等 地 的 赛 马 极 其 练马师、马主、骑 师
走 入国内赛 场 参 与赛 事。更多国 际 名驹的融 入，也 将让中国 成
为一个更好的商业及推广平台。
